Abby & Ian | A Classic Wedding Day at I-Hotel in Champaign, Illinois

Some wedding days feel larger than life. Others feel quiet, intentional, and deeply rooted in the people who matter most.

Abby and Ian's wedding at the I Hotel in Champaign was exactly that.

As both a friend and the photographer and filmmaker documenting their day, this wedding held a special place in my heart. Getting to witness two people you care about step into marriage is always an honor, and it was such a joy to preserve these memories for them.

From the beginning, the day carried a timeless elegance. Abby chose a classic wedding gown that felt effortlessly beautiful and perfectly suited to the traditional style of the celebration. Her bridesmaids wore soft blue dresses that added just the right touch of color, while Ian and his groomsmen wore black tuxedos that gave the day a refined, sophisticated feel.

The floral design featured hydrangeas, one of my favorite flowers for creating a romantic and timeless wedding aesthetic. Their soft texture paired beautifully with the clean, classic details woven throughout the day.

The I Hotel provided the perfect backdrop for their celebration. With both the ceremony and reception taking place on-site, the day felt relaxed and intimate, allowing Abby and Ian to spend more time with the people they love most. While it was a smaller wedding, it never felt lacking.
